Mickey Mouse Toaster

It really started with the kids insisting that they wanted one simply because it's cute and they promise to eat their vegetables as long as I buy them one . with that trade, I gave in and bought one for them where we toast their break exclusively.

However I was not be outsmarted by my children. I knew I could use that Mickey Mouse toaster to a higher purpose. I did find some stuff that I could do and maybe it will help you.

Ignite Their Creative Minds

I blame technology for pulling kids away from classic literature. Before they get their hands on stuff like Man With The Iron Mask, they are already well on their way to the last level of tekken. It's so hard to get them to listen to all the beautiful literature our generation has been so into. However, Mickey Mouse was able to solve that for me. Usually, they are so fixed with the bread that I am serving and are just eagerly waiting on the table. I use this time to encourage them to make up stories about Mickey Mouse and how he was able to travel for Disney to our kitchen. It is fun and also a revelation on how creative kids can be. Every morning, they never run out of idea.

Move On To Disney

After immersing them with Mickey, you can now move on to other Disney characters. I brought some books with all the illustrations and story and ask them to integrate this character into the Mickey Mouse stories that we already have. Again, you will surprise at their creativity.

Then To Other Characters

After you have Disney sealed, you can now move on to other character. Slowly transition them into heavier literature. I would guess, they will eventually get sick of the Mickey Mouse toaster but they will be in love with literature by then.
